Abstract: 

After the energy crisis of the 1970s, governments have become sensitive to energy changes; this date has been the official starting point for future studies in the field of energy. Iran has long been one of the world's energy export players due to its precious fossil energy resources. In this research, Iran's position in the competitive natural gas market has been investigated using Porter's five competitive forces tool. The results of the analysis showed that Iran has the right place, so there is a need for appropriate investment in Iran's presence in the new natural gas market, export through Liquid Natural Gas (LNG). Currently, the country perceives itself as a global market for exports through pipelines to neighboring countries.

Abstract: 

This paper examines the impacts of fuel price reform on the technology mix of power plants and other outputs of the Iran electricity market. In this regard, Iran electricity market has been simulated by using an agent-based model for a long-term period. Then, as a result of fuel price reform, the changes in the outputs of the electricity market, including the average price, average efficiency, capacity and technology mix of generation has been studied and analyzed. The results show that, the current situation of technology mix of power plants is far from optimum conditions. Accordingly, the reform of fuel prices may change the returns and incentives of investment in different technologies so that, technology mix of power plants would face major changes, and by increasing share of more efficient power plants like combined cycle power plants, the average efficiency of electricity production increase from current 36% to more than 55%.

Abstract: 

Following the rise of the fuels that power plants consume in the deregulated market, an increase in the electricity prices would be expected. This article tries to study the effects of power plants’ fuel prices adjustment on the amount of increase in electricity prices in the market. The components of the deregulated power market were modeled in the systems dynamics method with the aim of finding a reasonable answer to the question of this research. The model encompasses three parts, namely demand, price and production run through powersim software. The change in the prices of fuels delivered to power plants is considered as the policy variable of the model. The results of running the model illustrated that it is anticipated that the price of electricity will reach 409 rials in a kilowatt per hour by the end of the period providing that the power plants’ fuel prices are not adjusted. If the prices of fuels delivered to power plants are adjusted, the power market prices will reach 556 and 585 rials in a kilowatt per hour by the end of the period, assuming that the price growth may be by 5 or 8 percent, respectively. In the final part of the paper, the effect of economic growth increase as well as that of value added taxation on power market is analyzed in the framework of a suggestion model. Therefore, in such a case, assuming a 6 and 8 percent price growth, the prices of power market will reach 611 and 641 rials in a kilowatt per hour by the end of the period.

Abstract: 

Bunkering is a vital part of our lifes. Supplying fuel or bunkering, as one of the most important components of maritime transport, has found its place in most parts of the world today. In this regard, Iran's effective entry into this industry can strengthen the country's political and economic sovereignty in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman and lead to growth and development of activities, employment and income generation, development of existing ports and infrastructure and increase Iran's global reputation and complete the country's oil value chain. The hypotheses of this research are marketing mixture, Axial Strategy, political, external marketing and internal marketing. The purpose of this study is to identify the opportunities and challenges of the factors affecting the Iranian bunkering market from the experts point of view, with a quantitative approach. This research is an applied research in terms of purpose. The method of data collection is a Likert scale survey. Structural equation technique and AMOS software are used to analyze the data. Prioritization of criteria and sub-criteria is based on AHP technique. Finally, the output of Expert Choice software is used to implement and hierarchical cluster analysis.

Abstract: 

This article is devoted to the study of the impact of a reform in power plant fuel prices on the key variables of Iran's electricity market (average electricity price and the financial balance of the electricity industry). It is based on a simulation model. In this regard, we employed a model in which the presence or absence of competition in the electricity market is based on the amount of power plant storage factor that is available in every hour. The corresponding critical storage factor, which is based on actual operation, is also calculated. Due to a suppressed price cap and availability rate (that is even lower than what is necessary for sending optimal investment signals), the current price cap and availability rate is not a valid starting point for calculating the desired effects. Hence, before examining the effects of a price reform on the mentioned variables, the price cap and availability rates need to be adjusted to a level that can guarantee a minimum IRR for investors in this sector. According to calculations, in order to sending the necessary signals for investment, by assuming a fixed availability rate, it is necessary to increase the current price cap (nearly 417 Rials per kilowatt hour) to a new level (570 Rials per kilowatt hour). According to that, the average wholesale market price will increase from nearly 600 Rials per kilowatt hour to 706 Rials per kilowatt hour. The implementation of this policy imposes a financial burden of about 29894 billion Rials to the Ministry of Energy. Given that, in markets amid with a price cap (and hence an availability payment), a price reform in fuel price, requires a proportional modification in the market price cap. Based on this obligation, the effects of the price reform on the mentioned variables, is calculated and analyzed. The analysis is based on three different scenarios about fuel price for power plants,The price of gas used in the petrochemical industry (as a raw material for this industry), the price of gas that is exported to Turkey, and, the minimum bound foreseen in the "law on the targeting of subsidies" in relation to the price of natural gas. Implementation of the mentioned scenarios will increase the market cap from 570 Rials per kilowatt hour to 1783, 3655 and 2830 Rials per kilowatt hour respectively. Adjusted average market price, proportional to the adjustment made in the market price cap, would be equivalent to 1922, 3801 and 2973 rials per kilowatt hour respectively. Furthermore, the financial burden corresponding to these scenarios will be 61717, 156574 and 114866 billion Rials respectively.
